It’s not how much time is left – it’s how much extrinisic value is left! If you there’s two weeks left to expiration, you’ve already collected $1.70 and there’s only .30 cents left. It’s not worth waiting for the 0.30 cents since already got most of the value. You now have more to lose than to gain (the $1.70).
